my first food confession

so how many of you have food issues?

if you just shook your head vehemently, you know you're one of the abovementioned.

here's a list of which i admit to, pertaining to food issues.

1.) secretly mutter under my breath "bitch" to the hot ass, modelesque legs, perky butt and breasts, taught torso and shapely arms, sculpted cheekbones girl sitting/walking/sharing the air that i breathe who is within sight.

2.)secretly contemplate surgery/hiring a personal trainer/suicide when the same girl tucks into a plate of the oiliest fried rice/the creamiest cakes/the biggest bag of chips/ the highest pile of chips/ the greasiest burger.

3.)lock the door and make sure to remove every last bit of article even remembering to breathe out when standing on the bathroom scale.

4.)secretly rewarding myself with a nice bar of toblerone/kinder bueno/chocolate tart/bag of red rock deli chips upon realising the needle has shifted slightly to the left and that i have lost a grand 300 grams.

5.) secretly keeping treats under sofas/bed or bedside ledges for moments when i deserve it. of course my judgement is often blurred.

prologue - an introductory note

"Eh Hazz, you really like food ah?"

Well, I guess it is fortunate enough it wasn't "Eh Hazz, you really like to eat ah?"

I must say the abovementioned quote was the catalyst which made me realize and admit, i DO indeed like food. Not so much to eat it per se (or so i keep telling myself), but more on the how-tos, the what-ares or the can-its.

So you'd think I'd be able to name you a dish from Heston's Feast or the episodes from each season of Maeve O'Hara's Food Safari? Did I memorize any recipe from the sultry Nigella Lawson. Maybe even recite facts from food educator(educationist?) Jamie Oliver. Perhaps some insider dirt on the commpellling Gordon Ramsay? Will you expect me to be able to chop as fast as Martin Yan can ? Or tell you Chef Wan's birthday? Maybe spill some insider tips from Singapore's very own Asmah Laili?

Truth is, I'm quite simply a fan of the star of these stars - food.

I might not be able (yet) to do all of the abovementioned, but nonetheless, I really like food.

So that's that. my introduction.
